THE STORY OF THE MUTINY

INSPIRED BY THE FEAR OF BEING AVERAGE

MUTINY IS A STORY OF A SOCIETY THAT DESPERATELY WANTS CHANGE BUT DOESN'T KNOW WHERE TO START. SUCH CONFUSION, STRUGGLE, HOPE, AND TRIUMPH IS CONVEYED VIA CLOTHING.

MUTINY IS THE STORY OF THE PROCESS: CONSTRUCTION, REVOLT, AND CONSEQUENCES

THE COLLECTION MOVES SEAMLESSLY THROUGH EACH OF THESE STAGES, EMBODYING EVERY EMOTION FELT AT EACH MOMENT. SHOWCASING THE LINK BETWEEN EMOTION AND FASHION WITH EACH GARMENT AND STYLING CAREFULLY THROUGHOUT.

WHAT YOU ARE AWARE OF, YOU ARE IN CONTROL OF. WHAT YOU ARE UNAWARE OF, IS IN CONTROL OF YOU.

Mutiny was inteded to be presented in St. John’s University’s, The Red House Fashion show in 2020 . However, the presentation was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic and all students were forced to vacate their dorms, leaving all personal items behind. Thus, the collection below is a culmination of the garments and campagin materials that were salvadged before Leilani was forced to vacate the premisis.

A multidisciplinary creative creating garments at the intersection of art, design, creative direction, and photography.
